We welcome Melissa Valjakka to the team! Melissa joined us in October 2026 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering at Aalto University. Melissa’s thesis project focuses on investigating the added value of clinical notes in disease risk prediction by comparing structured information extraction and text embedding methods. She explores the use of different language models for extracting predictive information from Finnish clinical texts.
